There are two types of objects:
Luminous Objects: Objects that give out light are called luminous objects. All luminous objects emit light that has been produce by them. We can see a luminous object because the light emitted by them reaches our eyes and creates a sense of vision. All luminous objects are sources of light like the sun, the stars, a burning candle, a lighted electric bulb and a firefly etc.

Non Luminous Objects: Objects that do not give out light are called non luminous objects. All non-luminous objects can not emit light as they cannot produce any light. We can see a non luminous object because when a light falls on the non luminous object it is reflected back this light reaches our eyes and creates a sense of vision. Fan, planets, books, moon, flowers etc. are all non - luminous object. We see moon as it reflects the light of sun falling on it. The non - luminous objects are also called illuminated objects because they get illuminated by the light of luminous objects.
